Hello Everyone, "Lew" Lewis here. I've penned several articles both for NCAR as well
as the monthly column I write for Cruisin'News concerning the dilemma some of us face in regard to the question "What am I going to do with all this stuff I've collected" I've addressed this question about the physical items, the photos, programs, trophies, jackets, helmets and even real race cars. If you have anything like this please contact Roy Wilhite or any of the other board members of NCAR and make arrangements for pickup and storage until we get a place to permanently display your items. You can also contact me and I will come to your residence and pick up and store your items until we have a place to display. Now I will move along to a more sensitive subject. Right now all of us are engaged in this wonderful "thing" called life. Unfortunately none of us are going to last forever and at some point we all will join those loved ones who have preceded us in death. I don't mean to bring into this discussion what you or I may or may not "believe in" as far as the hereafter goes. That is up to the individual and I certainly respect your personal beliefs. What I am asking you to consider is upon the passing of a loved one who was either a racing fan, car owner, driver or other, is that you ask that memorials be directed to NCAR. Yes flowers are beautiful but within a very few days they wilt and fade whereas a memorial to NCAR will keep the memory of your loved one before the racing public forever. Before the formation of NCAR, when my good friend Wayne Sue passed away the family asked that memorials be directed to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. Remember that NCAR is a non-profit organization and anything directed to it is fully tax deductible. I hope I did not upset anyone who reads this as this is a very sensitive subject, I'm just asking you to think about this and consider. As I close, remember to make your wishes legal in the form of a living trust or will, that way your loved ones will not have to worry that your wishes will be carried out. NCAR can answer any questions you may have about Non-Profit and tax deductible status. Thank you. I'm "Lew Lewis and I can be reached at (530) 713-6491 or openwheeler12@gmail.com
